MURFREESBORO - For the first time, Rutherford County Schools will begin offering online classes that high school students can take during summer school.

The new program offers online courses to Rutherford County high school students who completed ninth grade and up during the 2012-2013 school year.

"We're trying to find new ways to serve the needs of high school students to meet graduation requirements," said Richard Zago, assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. "It gives them options other than traditional summer school."

All courses are developed and taught by Rutherford County teachers.

Fees are $125 per half-credit and must be paid at summer school registration on May 30 at Riverdale High from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. CONTINUE READING >>
